the words of a song.
“He smiled understandingly—much more than understandingly. It was one of those rare smiles with a quality of eternal reassurance in it, that you may come across four or five times in life. It faced—or seemed to face—the whole external world for an instant, and then concentrated on you with an irresistible prejudice in your favor. It understood you just as far as you wanted to be understood, believed in you as you would like to believe in yourself, and assured you that it had precisely the impression of you that, at your best, you hoped to convey.”
-The Great Gatsby, p. 48

Lieutenant Williamr Murdoch (28 February 1873 – 15 April 1912) was a Scottish sailor who died on board the RMS Titanic, where he was employed by the White Star Line, serving as First Officer. He is notable as the officer in charge on the bridge the night when the Titanic collided with an iceberg in the Atlantic Ocean, in which over 1,500[1] people died.
Not only that, but he is incredibly attractive, and died a hero :D
“Take her to sea, Mr. Murdoch.”
